Maroon Mehndi Joggers

I call it Mehndi which is the Hindu or Urdu word for Henna. Henna has been around for over 5000 years and is practiced in Pakistan, India, Africa and the Middle East. It’s a paste that was used for cooling purposes and applied to the hands and feet and sometimes used for its medicinal value to treat burns or stomach aches.

The plant used to make henna also leaves a temporary brown or orange stain on the skin and is now used for decorative purposes. It’s often used to symbolise good health and a prosperous marriage.

My favourite part about mehndi is that I always associated henna with happy occasions so it was the memories that I will never forget that came with it. I still get that same excitement about getting my henna done even now and the Mehndi Fall Collection shows off the most beautiful Indian and African henna pieces woven into contemporary streetwear
